Pulse 5 Piece Junior Drum Set
Pulse 5-Piece Junior Drum Set Features:
Save BIG when you buy today! Reader Reviews I gave this to my 4-year-old son and my 8-year-old daughter. It's small enough for my son to play comfortably, but is not too small for my daughter, who is tall for her age. My kids love it. If you are wondering whether it's insane to get a drumset for kids, I would strongly encourage you to do it. They can really explore the different sounds, and they bring an unexpected self-discipline to learning new beats. The drum shells and shell hardware are outstanding for the price. The drums are smaller than standard, but large enough to sound like real drums. It actually sounds better than many full-size budget sets. The drums stay put while you are playing them. The cymbals are predictably awful. They don't SOUND particularly bad, but the crash/ride gets dented easily and you can't tell whether the high-hats are open or closed by listening to them. They do provide kids with metal surfaces to hit that sound better than pots and pans. The bass drum pedal and high hat stand work great for children but are too flimsy for adults. I had to mess with the bass drum pedal a bit because it kept clicking on the nut that was used to tighten it to the bass drum. That said my kids are able to use both pedals efficiently and neither pedal appers to be on the verge of breaking. The stool is also fine for kids, but too small for adults. Playing this kit myself is a guilty pleasure (I don't own a real drum set). The drums really do sound good for a budget kit, not just a mini kit. The hardware, however, is designed for kids. I highly recommend this kit if you have small children. This kit fits my eight-year-old, but she could also play on a full-size kit.
