So many good things to say about the X7s. For the price, it's hard to find a better deal for a kit like this. I received them 2 days before a gig and had the stock Remo heads (great for stock heads) stretched, tuned and sounding great in time for the show. The maneuverability on the toms is nice, definitely an upgrade from my previous set. This is not North American maple, most likely Chinese (inexpensive,lower quality)...so it is not of a top grade wood, but nonetheless, they are maple and sound great. Tune them right and get the right heads on for your sound and there's no reason they shouldn't be fitting. Great set for beginners, intermediates and to gig with if you don't want to risk the commute with a better set meant to stay home.
